  1. 1802 Siege of Crête-à-Pierrot Victory

    Fort Crête-à-Pierrot, held by Haitian insurgents, was besieged by French troops in a prolonged battle. Despite fierce insurgent resistance, the French finally took the fort after several weeks of fighting.

  2. 1802 Saint-Domingue Campaign Defeat

    From December 1801 to December 1802, the Saint-Domingue expedition sent by Bonaparte under General Leclerc tried to restore slavery and French authority. After initial successes against Toussaint Louverture, yellow fever decimated French troops; Leclerc died in November 1802. Rochambeau pursued extermination war before final defeat at Vertières (1803).

  3. 1802 Siege of Saint-Marc Victory

    The siege of the port city of Saint-Marc was conducted by French forces seeking to retake a strategic position held by insurgents. After several weeks of fighting, the French succeeded in capturing the city.
