The Siege of Cairo ended with the capitulation of French forces to British troops, bringing the French campaign in Egypt to an end.

After Napoleon's departure for France, French troops, isolated and weakened, had to resist British offensives seeking to retake control of the territory.

The French adopted an urban defense, but facing numerical superiority and a methodical siege, they could not prevent surrender.

The defeat led to the complete withdrawal of French forces from Egypt and the end of their presence in the East.
